Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass

Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass is a band straight out of the ‘Shire’, with their base being the Parish Hall in the sleepy town of Cleobury Mortimer, but don’t let its lethargic origin’s mislead you…

After making a return to the competition circuit, CMCB were 4th Section Champions at Wychavon in 2011, National Finalists at Cheltenham in 2012 and in March 2014, made their debut in the 3rd Section at the Midlands Areas.

As well as doing the rounds on the competition circuit, CMCB can be seen playing throughout the summer, with appearances this year including Pershore Midsummer Brass Band Festival on 4th July and Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival on 11th July.

CMCB are also on the lookout for the future, and every evening before the main band rehearse, the kids are let loose on the instruments. They boast success from several local competitions, much of which can be credited to Jack Martin and Katie Griffiths, who both sit on CMCB's front row.

The band now boasts its very own training band which gets together every Tuesday between 6.30 - 7.30 at Cleobury Mortimer Social Club.

The training band is led my our very own principal cornet player Jack Martin and have had success in many local banding competitions. The training band holds no prejudice to age, so if you've ever wanted to learn, please feel free to come along to either listen in, or pick up an instrument and give it a go!!

The Band would like to take the opportunity to give special thanks to Camps Highways (www.camps-highways.co.uk) for their very kind donation which allowed the band to purchase new ties, which we must say, look very smart.
